Client
El Dorado Management Group

Project
Location web sites

Background
El Dorado manages several locations, including a golf course restaurant (El Dorado Park), a large event venue (The Grand), and a catering company (Galley Catering). Previously, all four locations were combined into one large web site, which provided an overview of services, and utilized a menu calculator common to all locations. Two of the sub-sites, The Grand and Galley Catering, featured extensive information about the companies; El Dorado featured brief information; The Grand and El Dorado also had room layouts and interactive tours of the rooms available for events. CBD was retained to separate the four locations into their own web sites, and develop a consistent company look while giving each site its own identity.

Our Solution
Following a series of meetings with the client to determine the direction and scope of the project, CBD developed a site architecture to illustrate proposed consistencies among the four sites. Each site now contains a similar architecture, with a home page, location descriptions, etc . . . pick up info from proposal.

Client
El Dorado Management Group: The Grand

Background
The Grand is an event center located in Long Beach, which hosts corporate events, weddings and special occasions. They desired a website redesign that promotes all three aspects of their business, and provides helpful information to the planners of each. They also desired an interactive event planner which clients can use to select dates, rooms, menus, and other options, and calculate prices prior to talking with a sales representative.

Our Solution
CBD designed a new logo to create a more corporate look for The Grand. The new look coordinates with all printed material, which we designed concurrently. The look was then incorporated into the redesigned site, which features links to a variety of sections, from interactive 3-D room tours to menus to wedding advice to related vendors such as hotels, transportation services and photographers.

The event planner includes information from all event menus in an interactive database, allowing the viewer to quickly calculate the cost of an event with different selection combinations.

The Grand was so thrilled with the final project they allowed CBD to carry the approach over to three related sites they operate through their parent organization, El Dorado Management Co.

For The Child - Formerly Cedar House and Sarah Center

Project Description
For the Child is a well-known Long Beach agency that provides services for child abuse victims and their families. They operated a simple website with program descriptions. After several years of steady growth, they were ready for a more comprehensive site that included several interactive features, such as volunteer signup and online donations.

Our Solution
Working with FTC staff, CBD completely redesigned the site, utilizing bright colors to emphasize the “child” aspect of their services. We incorporated all the online functionality, and created a more logical navigation to handle the information about the agency’s many programs for children and families. We also created a press center that serves as an archive for press releases and photos for media persons.
